Description
This circuit takes place on the western ridge of the limestone plateau of Caussols, above the village of Gourdon, perched on a rocky outcrop whose dominant fortified enclosure contributed to the monitoring role of the whole valley of the Loup.
In this mineral universe with the characteristic relief of the regions where limestones predominate, the summit of the Montet hill accommodates a modern construction that contrasts with the bories, dry stone huts of spherical shape that used to shelter farmers and local breeders.
Two rotunda structures face each other on these vast plateaus intersected by a verdant polje: the CERGA observatory on the Calern plateau and the civil aviation radar, the objective of this trek which offers, in clear weather, a remarkable point of view on all the west of the coastal country and the Côte d'Azur.
