Description
Le Conquet is a strategic observation site on the heart of Mercantour and the high valleys of Boréon and Fenestre.
We can test his talent as an interpreter of the cartographic background by orienting his map to read the position of the different summits: from left to right in the foreground, the debonair rump of Baus de la Fréma, Archas, Piagu and The Palu; In the second plan, Lèche, Argentera, Nasta, Mercantour, Guilié, Ruine, Pélago, Cougourde (partly masked), Gaisses, Lombard, Agnellière, Gélas, Cabret, Columbus, Clapier, Ponset.
From May to November, it is an ideal walk for a geographical initiation in high Vésubie with an ideal plot in full adret.
Cruise along the way, the Trou du Diable evokes for the Saint-Martinois many remembrances: during the war, they hid the famous Black Madonna of Fenestre to save her from the lusts of the occupant.
