Pointe Siricocca
Description
The arrival at the fort of the Siricocca Point, the ideal ford, directed both towards the waterfront and inland, justifies the ascent of this rocky summit which dominates Sainte-Agnes, a coastal village on Higher in Europe (700 m).
From the roundabout, the eye will not tire of detailing the Menton Riviera and the neighboring peaks (Baudon, Mont Ours, Grand Mont, Roc d'Ormea) or more distant (Gelas, Grand Capelet, Mount Bego).
These massive remains, with their thick stone walls, often shelter a flock of sheep in winter, which takes the aerial situation of Siricocca Point; The northern slope of the mountain, covered with a copse of holm oaks (or "yeuses") with nourishing acorns, is climbed by an excellent military path with geometric layout from the wide and bucolic Verroux pass.
