Circuit of Trecolpas
Description
Very pleasant course in the forest punctuated by superb escapes on the border ridges of the upper Boréon and among them on the spectacular walls of gneiss of the Cougourde (2 921 m), characteristic peak in the shape of a squash ("Cougourde" Squash "in patois, hence this funny surname).
The majesty of the site, the quality of the rock and the respectable height of its faces (400 m), the Cougourde attracts summer and autumn many climbers for more than half a century.
The itinerary also includes the regular presence of water, from the small adjacent valleys to the green lakes of Boréon, culminating in the peaceful Lake Trécolpas (2,150 m), nestled Not of the Ladres (2,448 m), obligatory passage towards the sanctuary of the Madonna of Fenestre and very frequented in July and August.
